Fridge First Recipe

Food lover · Home cook · AI explorer · App builder

Hello — I'm glad you're here.

I've always been that person who opens the fridge, stares at whatever is in there, and tries to figure out what to make for dinner. Not because I'm disorganised — but because cooking from what you actually have is one of the most satisfying kitchen puzzles there is.

I grew up around food. Big family dinners, spice-heavy kitchens, the kind of cooking where recipes aren't written down because everyone just knows. That love of cooking stuck — but the chaos of planning it all for a modern, busy household? That part never got easier.

A few years ago I started experimenting with AI — not in a tech-lab way, but in a very personal, kitchen-table way. I'd describe what was in my fridge and ask an AI what to make. The results were surprisingly good. And then I thought: what if this was an actual app?

That curiosity is what led to FridgeFirst. I build cooking and lifestyle apps because I genuinely think technology should make everyday life a little more joyful — not more complicated. I explore recipes with AI the way some people explore hiking trails: always curious about where the path goes, always happy to get a little lost.

What I believe in

Food is love

Every recipe is a conversation with the people you cook for. Getting that right matters.

AI as a cooking partner

AI shouldn't replace the cook — it should handle the boring part so you can enjoy the kitchen.

Explore, don't prescribe

The best meal planning leaves room for a craving, a random fridge find, or a Tuesday night experiment.

Build what you need

If an app doesn't exist that solves your real problem, that's an invitation to make it.

Why FridgeFirst exists

Most meal planning apps start with a recipe database and work backwards. You browse meals, pick ones you like, then figure out what to buy. It's the cookbook model — completely backwards from how most of us actually cook.

FridgeFirst starts with your fridge. What's in there, what's about to go off, what your family will actually eat. The AI builds around reality, not around an idealised shopping list. For South Asian families, for households with dietary restrictions, for anyone who shops weekly and cooks nightly — this difference matters.

I built it because I needed it. And it turns out a lot of people did too.
