Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using FridgeFirst (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use FridgeFirst. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately at hello@fridgefirstrecipe.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Free trial & subscriptions

• New accounts receive a 14-day free trial of Pro features. No payment method is required to start the trial.
• If you choose to subscribe, billing is handled by Stripe and charged on the cycle you select (monthly or annual).
• You can cancel any time from your billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; the current paid period remains active until its end date.
• Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
• Fees pay for software and AI-assisted Service features only. They are not fees for medical, nutritional, or allergy counselling, for guarantees that recipes or products are safe or suitable, or for a warranty that allergens or dietary restrictions will be detected or flagged accurately.

5. AI-generated content

Recipes, meal plans, grocery suggestions, product interpretations, and related outputs may be produced or assisted by AI based on what you provide and third‑party data. They are for convenience and inspiration only.

FridgeFirst is not a substitute for qualified medical, nutritional, or allergy advice. For allergies and intolerances, medical diets, or any medical condition affected by diet, speak with your doctor, allergist, dietitian, or other qualified clinician. Do not disregard professional advice or delay obtaining it based on anything in the Service.

Do not solely rely on the Service’s matching, tagging, scans, summaries, warnings, filters, recipes, ingredient lists, or barcode/product information to detect or avoid allergens or other risks. Outputs may omit conflicts, omit or mis‑identify allergens, misunderstand ingredients or labels, or reflect incomplete or incorrect source data — including OCR errors, missing product‑database entries, ambiguous ingredient names, or AI mistakes. Risks including cross‑contact, manufacturing changes, mishandling, and how food is cooked are solely your responsibility.

You are solely responsible for verifying every product label, manufacturer allergy statement, regulatory information, preparation method, serving choice, storage, food safety, and suitability for anyone who consumes the food — regardless of suggestions from the Service.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our underlying models or data.
• Upload illegal, abusive, infringing, or sexually explicit content.
• Use the Service to harass, harm, or impersonate others.
• Probe, attack, or attempt to compromise the security of the Service.
• Resell or commercially redistribute the Service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of recipes, photos, and notes you create or upload. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display them solely so we can operate the Service for you (for example, syncing across your devices and family members you invite).

8. Our intellectual property

The FridgeFirst name, logo, app design, and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our trademarks or branding.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for your needs.

The Service incorporates or interprets third‑party databases, barcode catalogues, and similar sources— for example aggregated product feeds. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of that data or ofanalyses built on it (including allergens, nutrition, additives, or ingredients). Errors in source data propagate into the Service. You must confirm material facts on authoritative packaging and with the manufacturer where appropriate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FridgeFirst's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate the Service, or any account, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or to comply with legal obligations.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which FridgeFirst is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
